I suspect this linked post was from an earlier version of v14.

Assuming you have iwprj2 files in the backup directory, copy and rename as project.iwprj2 into the main project directory (the folder above backup)

If this still fails to open the project.

In windows explorer, rename each of the files with a red arrow as old (eg backups.xml -> backups.old), and then rename each of the files with a blue arrow to the original name (ie without the bu in the name)

Good luck, please let us know if you are successful.

(& for future reference, visit step 5, export project (often) to create an iwzip, then rename it (perhaps add date to name), this will create a complete (with all source files), reliable and moveable backup)

*hindsight is a wonderful thing*

PS the newest version is far more stable and allows the renaming of the iwzip "on the fly"

Hello.Make sure that you are not trying to open projects in the 14th version of the program that were made in a newer version.

Thanks for the help.  Unfortunately my folder turned out not to have the files named backup or project.iwprj.

Is there anything else which can be done.  I have managed to open the last backup file which is over 6 months old - is there any way of moving the later files from the project that will no longer work to this one?

Kind regards

Unfortunately 99% of your project is in the project.iwprj2 (or possibly project.iwprj) file. If this has been lost then so too have the latest changes.
