Cannot play video  en

I am using Website X5 Pro (v12) and having trouble playing video.

I created a page and dropped the video object, then select my MP4 source from disk.

The player control box is showing ok. When I preview the page I see the video player box and controls but only an icon for AVG player in the box and no video. When I click the play icon, nothing happens.

If you try to recode the video to another codec?

...ok; reading the online guide of website x5, the best supported video player seems to be Adobe Flash Player; your problem could be using AVG player, instead...

Hello David

The best coding to use, is H-264. (it's still a mp4 )

I have found out, that this gives the fewest problems in different browsers.

Kind regards

John

This is very frustrating.

If I select firefox browser when previeing site locally, all works fine. But, the built-in preview browser will not play the video.

I have adobe flash installed in my browsers. Also made sure the video format is H-264.

The built-in browser shows the orange and white VCL player icon instead of the video. Even if I change my local machine default video app to windows media player, I see this icon. Could this be a file associate problem with mp4 extensions? Others must have this working ok, how are yours set up?

Thanks
