Hello John

Yes

If you haven't done already then you have to in : 1 SETTINGS/advanced - data manegament, to specify your database connection.

Then in the mail/form object you have to on the send-tab to specfiy in data submission to choose :

Send data to a database.

You now have specified that the form data now are send to your database.

You can then from the Mysql panel export the data to a csv-file.

The easiest way however is to use the : Database viewer object.

You here have the possibility to connect to the table with the form-data abd then export the data to excel.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind regards

John S.

It is the INCOMEDIA Database viewer - https://market.websitex5.com/en/objects/all_3

You can read about it here : https://market.websitex5.com/en/objects/live-preview/371262fa-27c5-421a-9127-852da219d4

You can see an example where I use it to display data and allow downloading to export CSV.

You will have to use some credits, but I can tell you, that the database viewer is one of the objects that is worth the price.

If you look at this example, you will see that I have not allowed downloading here : http://www.brammingegnsmuseum.dk/glasplader.html

And if you try the last menu item ( Glasplader - edit ) , then you will see that you have to be logged in to view this.

I guess you will also want to put your viewer in a restricted area.

I hope you find my posts useful or you have solved your problem by this.

Kind regards

Hello John

The Database viewer works with website X5 13 PRO - my example was made with v 12 but once purchased you have it also for later versions. So I also have it ( and use it ) in Version 13 PRO and did not have to buy it again.

You can export to excel directly. You can try it yourself here where you are able to "Export CSV" : http://www.brammingegnsmuseum.dk/sagsoversigt.html

You can select on values, and if you have a date-value in the table, then you can select/ on this. You should be aware that you can not select on a specific field - if more fields are date-fields then all that matches is selected.

Also you cannot select on date-intervals - there is no logic in the filtering.

So - you can first select on a specific date and then you can export.

Kind regards

John S.

PS If you want a tool where you can input parameters to select on ( date intervals or values ) you could consider the REPORTICO - a free report tool. It is very good.

You can see an example where I use it to search. I have made no possibility to export, but the PDF could have been a button with "export to Excel" as well.

The example is here : http://www.energifremtiden.dk/c4d/search.html

Hello John U

You have the mail-form where you have the possibility to send data to your database.

You must be aware that you are limited to the fields that the mail form provides -and there is no built-in-logic. You can style the form.

You cannot make the form react on a question.

I do not quite understand why you need the :  form--->database---->excel when you want something like Google form.

Google form stores the data in a spreadsheet directly.

What is the purpose of not using Google Form ?

I think I need some more information of what it is you want to achieve.

I am afraid that the X5 mail form maybe is not enogh for your purpose - but please some more information.

Kind regards

John S.

Hello John U

You don't tell much of what data is needed.

My advice to you, would be to check if the mail-form can provide data enough.

If not, then you have to look elsewhere.

I could suggest that you then look at for example : https://www.phpjabbers.com/php-survey-script/features.php

You can try their demo.

You can host the solution yourself, and if you buy the developer edition, you may modify the program at your need.

You can export from the database, but you can also make filled surveys available for some persons only  - for exammple for the board or so.

If this software is not what you are looking for you have to search the web yourself or you have to tell some more about what you want the software to do.

Kind regards

John S.
