Where is X5?  en

Website X5 is not a cheap product in this day and age. It does some things very well and I like the fact that I can run the program on my PC and then upload to my server. That is great.

But it is falling well behind the edge in two respects:

1. It does not enable instant downloads of digital products. There is no way that I would have bought X5 in the first place if I had had to enter my credit card details and then wait for authorisation before I coudl down load the program. That is just not acceptable in this day and age.
When we purchase a program or facility on line, we expect to be able to download it instantly - or by return of email.
X5's continualled ignorance of this requirement is totally unacceptable.

2. Stripe is fast becomoing oneline payment facility and this integration should be built into X5. Many people will accept paypal - others won't. With a product nearing $200, this integration whoudl be built in.

I shan't be paying for any update until these two problems are solved and I am even thinking of migrating from X5. I certainly could not recommend it to anone at the moment.

Please give this some serious thought X5 and do not just sit on your laurels. Bigger giants than you have gone out of business by not listening to their customers.

I have to agree with you Duncan.  I've been so close to ordering it and may still do so, but the two points you mentioned are very valid points in my opinion, especially in this day and age now where more people are building websites selling goods, whether digital or physical.  I know there seems to be the issue with instant downloads you mentioned, and then I saw some others who sell products who said that they had issues with a tracking number being given to their customers before they even paid for their physical items.  Weird in itself to me.

I also agree with Stripe being pretty much a necesity now for anyone running an eCommerce site of some kind.  Not everyone uses Paypal even if most have an account.

Another thing I will add, is that X5 really is in need of a major reconstruction when it comes to allowing us to create multiple working Coupon Codes for our customers to use.  It seems at this time, only ONE code can be set up in X5, and that is it.  If I wanted to offer a site wide sale of 20% off using ONECODE, along with setting up a special TWITTERCODE for my twitter followers offering them 30% off, and then offering all of my email subscribers a separate code they can enter for 40% off using TWOCODE, I would either have to set up the code only for ONECODE or TWOCODE or TWITTERCODE, but not all of them set up to work at the same time so that those who use the site wide coupon code can get their discount, while allowing those who have a different code to use that code instead of the site wide code offer.  It's like you have to do only one code at a time for the entire cart, period.  Most sites have multiple codes, such as FREESHIPPING, or codes that take 15% off, or others that take $10.00 off after your cart has $50 or more, etc.  Seems X5 is very lacking in this department.

There are lots of things I do like about X5, so I may still try it for the 30 days to see if I can build a mock website with it but so far, the things you mentioned, and coupon codes, are an issue to me.

Full agree with you Duncan, on the french forum, we are a lot to ask the same things since several monthes and versions, but no real answer just wait and pay for the next version and pray or do it yourself :-(

And for your stripe integration there's a solution here, I make a tuto about it :

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/fr/post/188531

Once again, we users had to do the work of incomedia to overcome the shortcomings of software that as you say is not offered

Hello to everyone.

I am very thankful to you all for your feedbacks.

We are aware of all the concerns you pointed out in your topic, and I can confirm that all of these are kept under consideration and are discussed properly of by the developers.

I would simply like to assure you that all of this that you're reporting is never forgotten, and is instead examined carefully.

I am unable to confirm whether any of this will be added in the upcoming updates or when by all means, but be sure that your needs are always the top priority, whether it is implemented sooner or later

Once again, thank you for dedicating a little of your time to leaving this feedback here for us

X5 is a good tool for creating websites. But even if you have the PRO-version, the shop is not.

For a PRO version it should be possible :

- When creating websites for customers, these customers should be able to maintain products, prices and other information themselves. The customer should not need to ask a webmaster or a webbuilder to insert a new product, or to change a price.

- Digital products should have a download link ( and prices ) for each combination. Meaning - if you sell e-books it should be possible to have a download link for an English version and a download link for a German version - for the same product. If it is photos/images you are selling, it should be possible to have the same photo in different resolutions and in different formats - with different prices and download links ( for each combination ) but you should only have one item ( one book and one image ).

- It should be possible for users to make a payment and then ( and not before then ) the order should be accepted. This way a user could buy an e-book ( or an image ) and seconds after he has made the payment, a download link should be sent to the customer.

These are things that should be in a PRO version for creating a web-shop. If you are a user with some skills for building websites, and you have your own webshop, then you can use X5 for that. If you are a webdesigner that creates websites for customers that has a webshop, you cannot use X5 - not even the PRO version.

The PRO version is not cheap and if you have to invest in e-commerce software beside that, then you are forced to look somewhere else.

I think it is a good question : Has INCOMEDIA plans for a real PRO web-shop ?

@ Duncan - please set the other post as private, so we only have this thread to take notice of.

Stefano - I appreciate the fact that I have opened more than one thread. I see your comment at https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/fr/post/192681 I am just totally frustrated that X5 seems to be doign nothing about it. I am lucky that I came into the product via a cheap route - but I woul not countenance  200 Euro (or whatever) for the product as it stands at the moment.

Can you even vaguely imagine anyone wanting to buy X5 now but to be told they have to wait unti someone has verified their purchase. Of course not. You have an instant download facility on your site - let your customers have that please.

I am, frankly, appalled that you do not pay more attention to your customers' requirements.

I have opened a thread here - and in the ideas - in the hope that someone somewhere might take notice.

Why why why can you not do this? I am lookign at alternatives - though that will be hassle as I have built using your software. But it ain't doign what I ned it to do.

I notice that Stefano has closed down my question thread. That does not bring the answer any closer to fruition.

I do not understand why we cannot have resolution to this probem.

Customers want instant downloads - that is what I expect when I buy off incomedia - that is what my customers expect of me.

Please fix it. You have a load of unhappy customers here.

Hi Incomeda

Always same answer from your team:

"We are aware of all the concerns you pointed out in your topic, and I can confirm that all of these are kept under consideration and are discussed properly of by the developers. "...

But since many months, weeks and years now, the payment order does not respects the standard on Internet.

Like many people said... on your own website this order is normal and not like with WSX5.
And your eCommerce part is not developed with your own product !!!

Does it fixed in the next BETA 15.2 ?????

or does we need to pay again the next update ... and to wait to wait to wait.

Regards

Hi,

I stopped to identify the shortcomings and mistakes in the software because anyway Incomedia does not respect its customers in any way so I keep my old sites with them because I have no choice. But for the new ones, I change creamery because I do not like being laughed at at this point.
Websitex5 remains a very good software graphically, but for e-commerce it's bullshit.

Hello Duncan,

I agree with you on all of your requests for Incomedia +100!

Regarding the translation of the procedure put in place by Franck, I think we are entitled to ask this to our supplier, right? (and yes we are Incomedia customers ...) It is dozens of hours to solve this problem and help users of the software to overcome the defect of Incomedia!

Incomedia, you realize that your customers can not wait anymore, again and again ...

Regards,

Danielle

I have posted some time ago a request to upload to the server not only standard folders but also folders created by user (to store scripts, parameter files, etc.).

Not even one response from Incomedia team!

So, what is the chance to get my request implemented?
