Text Object Content (Text) Missing, Unable to edit. Nothing appear in content. Could be solved only by restarting W5. It happened quiet frequently after installing the latest updates 2019.3.9.

Khalid, are you using Win10 perhaps?

This has happened to me due to background updates, and whilst it is not frequent, in my case it occured also in other versions of WX5.

Please advise if this is a frequent problem rather than occasional.

Yes i'm using Window 10. Happened at least once a day from my daily usage, especially the first time launching WX5 after PC shutted down. After restarting WX5 (not the PC) than everything will be back to normal.

Khalid, please go to step 5 and export project. This will create an iwzip file (complete backup).

Now reopen wx5 and select import and locate the iwzip. This will not overwrite the existing project.

If there are weak sectors on your hd this will mean the project is in a different place on the hd, and if there were any issues with the project then this export/import process has been known to fix them.

Hello.Try temporarily disabling your antivirus and firewall, try updating the .NET Framework, try running the program as administrator.

Khalid, it looks like the suggestions offered by Aleksej should be next :-)

(BTW does this problem occur at random, following a sequence of steps or only after a specific action? eg after preview)

right click on icon, "run as administrator"

Esahc, occur at random. as per just now, reoccur when I copy the text object and paste it in the same page. I'm now trying to run in administrator mode.

After running as administrator for few days it was ok. However now it reoccur.

After running as administrator for few days it was ok. However now it reoccur. What i notice is that this normally only when i updated product in the shopping cart. The text will be missing right after.

Khalid, when you preview, are you holding down the CTRL key?

Sometimes WX5 continues to update pages in the background and this function stops the program working reliably. Ctrl+Preview refreshes all pages before displaying the preview.

Khalid, it is interesting that you can reproduce this fault if you update the shopping cart (nobody else with this problem found a way to reliably recreate the problem when running as administrator). This may help identify the issue, I have asked Incomedia to assist.

Hello Khalid

I've attempted to proceed like you explained but it didn't trigger the issue like it did for you.

I must confirm that the developers are currently still working on this as to be able to fix it once and for all. 

For the moment, the procedure to reduce the number of occurrences is the following:

Shut the software down. 

Add it to the exceptions for both the antivirus and firewall

Restart the software as Administrator

I'll keep you posted here as soon as further news becomes available on this
