Font Awesome object - are icons stored remotely?  en

Reading the Font Awesome website, I noticed it seemed as though the icons might be stored remotely. Is this true of the Websitex5 object you are selling in your store, or can it be downloaded to hard drive and then uploaded to your webhost?

Hello Craig,

The icons are embedded as opposed to hosted...  so they are served from your own hosting, not that of Font Awesome.

When using the Font Awesome Icons Object, WebSite X5 takes care of this invisibly for you, behind the scenes.

Kind regards,

Paul

Okay thanks, so they are stored on the hosting companies server then if I'm understanding you correctly.

If you use the Font Awesome Icons Object (the Optional Object sold by WebSite X5) then the fonts are delivered from your own server  (or yes, the one which you rent from your hosting company, if not using your own server).

If you would like them to be delivered from Font Awesome's own servers instead then you would have to add custom code from Font Awesome to your site, as opposed to using the Optional Object.

Hope that clarifies things.

Yes thanks, so the object may be worthwhile getting.
