Pdf files do not show correctly on ipads

I use the iframe setting for the PDF files object.
Works fine on PC and Mac browsers - edge, chrome, safari, firefox
But on ipad browsers (various ipads and ipad air including new ipad pro), safari and chrome, the is no scrolling functionality of the pdf when the pdf is bigger than the set height option.

I believe this to be a specific quirk of iOS browsers. If I'm not wrong, this happens on iPhone too due to the fact that they don't really support PDFs via iFrame and automatically convert those to static images.
In most cases, this can only be solved by configuring the PDF to be downloaded instead of previewed
