Looking for a feature  en

Hi there,

My client is looking for something and I'm hoping the program either has a feature for it, or that perhaps something can be done to emulate it.

The idea: My client wants to offer a pass [say for 30 days] for tutorials and guides. They would be video guides, so we think the best idea is to have them viewable online and hosted on my client's site, rather than downloading dozens of videos.

Stipulations: Limited time access, no dowloading to prevent sharing/pirating, must not be something someone can access without paying, and ideally isn't something with a password that we have to change manually - my client prefers to set something up so it can run by itself.

Brainstorming: I had originally thought to create an item in the shopping cart, and rather than have it go to a downloadable product, it would go to an unlisted page on the site with the videos. The link the person receives would be set to expire in 30 days.

However, as far as I understand, after you click on the randomized link with the expiry date, the person sees the real [stable] url of the page, which they can then bookmark and view it even after the access expires, right?

So, I'm accepting ideas or thoughts on how to make it work - does the program have a feature that would allow for this?

Thank you!

Hello melissa

today the product has no feature to do that

herre my remarks

idea

i suggest in this case to creat a youtube video and not to upload videos to the customer website.

why ? because YT is the best solution to host videos, to compress them and so on

stipulation

never you can block the download. and even you will find a way to do it, the user can play the video and to use a video recorder software to record the screen

so blocked download is not possible. just may be the right clickbor button to download video

hope this  helps

Axel

Hi Axel - the problem with a YT video is that it's freely available, my client wants it to be paylocked.

I understand there are always workarounds for dl, but I just meant that I wanted it to be something a person can view, rather than downloading multiple videos as a digital product.

Hi,

the best free way is to upload the videos to Google Drive and make them open only to readers without downloading and only allowed to customer emails and they must be from Google, then include the folder address of these videos in the form of a button on the customer page on your site.

Hi Mohamed - still doesn't solve my issue: my client has customers who aren't very tech-savvy, so to ask them to have a google account would just be a nonstarter. Additionally, it still doesn't solve the problem of the links: gdrive has a stable link, which can still be bookmarked and used after the fact.

Also, my client would like to keep it to the program, and not use third party.

One option would be to work with protected pages that then contain the videos.

Depending on the time of purchase, the customer then has 30 to 45 days to access the video site.

The seller would need to change the login credentials for one of the three video sites every 15 days, delete the older digital product, and create a new digital product.

The shop would then sell a digital product consisting of a text file with a link to the video page, an email address, and a password.

     [ Product 1 for Videos a, b, c etc. ]

     [ Product 2 for Videos a, b, c etc. ]

     [ Product 3 for Videos a, b, c etc. ]

-----

The system with the 3 video pages and the 3 digital products for the same videos:

1) The shop operator would have to create a total of three video pages with access data, each of which would be presented as a digital product in the shop every 15 days.

2) After the third video page is online, 15 days later, the access data for the first video page is changed, and a new digital product with the new access data for the first video page is created and presented in the shop.

3)The old product for the first video page is then deleted because there is a new product for the first video page.

This is repeated 15 days later with the second video page, 15 days later with the third video page, and 15 days later with the first video page, and so on.

-----

The system is somewhat complex and only suitable for emergencies when no other better solution can be found.

Hi Daniel - thanks for your suggestion, and we did consider that, but as I mentioned, my client doesn't want something we have to keep changing manually, and you're right, this would be a tad complex to implement.
