Missing File In Site Map - Mysteriously Gone!  en

After making some changes to one of my web pages and upon uploading, I lost that page file, it was totally gone from my sitemap.

So I opened the last saved copy, and that missing file shows up in that site map. What I was trying to do was to copy that file from the older saved copy and paste it into the latest map that it was missing.

This, I thought, would be the easiest way to recover that missing page file in the older saved site map, and create the new missing page by pasting it into where it used to be in my current site map. X5 won't let me do this.

Does anyone know how I can do this?  I spent so many days perfecting that page with schema code, etc. If I have to create the new page as close to the original missing one, I am concerned it might show up as duplicate content and have other issues.

Has anyone had any success copying a file from an older site map (less than 30 days) and using it in the current working web site?

I would be very appreciative of X5 users that can help me through this.

Thank you very much. Giulio

I'm a little confused about what should be copied where.

If only one page of content is missing, couldn't I simply add a new page to the sitemap, copy the text, paste it into a text object, and insert the images into the image objects?

Or is the page more complex, and simply copying the text and pasting the image isn't enough, or would that be too time-consuming?

A Brief History of a Website Transfer in WebSite X5

When I transferred my brother's website to WebSite X5 a few years ago, I copied the text from the online site, and the images were still on my hard drive.

The old website had 50 pages and had to be completely rebuilt in WebSite X5, which took a whole day.

Incomedia staff or other trusted individuals may be able to resolve the issue if both projects are provided as backup copies (file extension .iwzip).

Let's wait and see if the Incomedia staff offers their assistance and asks you to upload the two IWZIP files via Swizztransfer.com and send the link to the Incomedia email address provided.

Hello Giulio,
it should indeed be possible to paste the page onto the sitemap: you will need two open two instances of the software with the two versions of the project, choose to copy the page in question and then in the project where it is missing click on "Menu" and the Paste option should be active.
