Virus detected with Gallery object  en

Using a galery object with miniatures in cellstructure I get a problem with Microsoft Security Essentials which detects and cleans an object : VirTool:JS/Obfuscator.DC . After this action the arrows to walk through the minitures do not appear anymore.

I get the chance to send the info to MS which I did (see attachment).
This happens both in firefox and IE.

This is a serious problem for me.

Hello Hans,

It could be happen that some virus infected your pc and the virus has been exported with your files on your hosting space.

I can suggest you to perform a complete scan of your pc with some antivirus, once you are sure your pc is not infected you need to delete the files on your server and export the whole site again.

It could also be possible that the problem is related with your hosting provider, in this case you need to refer to them but a complete new exportation of your site is not a bad idea.

Furthermore, you can try from another pc and check if the problem is only related with your pc.

Hope this helps

You seem to miss the point :

  1. i checked with several other pc's
  2. nothing special with the server
  3. it simply is the code which comes with website x5 which is detected bij MSE as unknowd and places in quarantaine. It is the resulting javacode for website!

I suggest you contact MS to get them to accept the software or to change your java modules. I have no problem whatsoever with my machine and mine and the other machines are not infected.

Please check the website x5 code with MS and do not putr the problem with me.

Oh and the problem started when I transferred the site completely to the server.
I use the most up to date version of Website X5.

I continued my study and found the following (correcting my previous posts):

The virus is VirTool:JS/Obfuscator.DC
Info : http://www.securityhome.eu/malware/malware.php?mal_id=18832472484fd04583c992f8.36966804
Marking in javacode : /*gootkitstart*/

The uploaded code from my computer is clean. After upload, the code on the server appears to be infected. I notified the provider and am waiting for an answer.

I deactivated the website temporarily.

Hello Hans,

seen that the code generated by WebsiteX5 is clean before the uploading I guess we need to wait for the hosting provider's answer.

Please keep me updated, thank you

Some further replies by the hosting provider indicating the problem was on my side. I replied that was not the case : the code on my machine was clean, the upload was clean. So in the end there was silence. But last week, the hoster changed all passwords for the manager acces of all websites and they move to CLOUD as the environment.

Case closed I think.
