Cannot load the page  en

Hello

I've created 20 or so product pages to the design I want... but I've run into a problem.

My method of creating pages is to copy a page in Sitemap and then rename it.

My problem is that I think I tried to copy one page multiple times (3 or more) and renaming all the copied pages to new products.

When I now try to display the preview page of any of the new pages I get the 'Cannot load the page' display.

When I look at the preview file in Explorer sure enough the new pages are not there, so it is undertandable that I would get the above message.

What I did next was to create a new page and rename it to the Product I require in Sitemap and then save the project. I have not put any  objects on the page at this point, in order to see if it appears in the preview file... and it does, so in preview I get the basic page and product name.

However when I then copy objects from a good page to this new page they won't display! (I think a picture may display but not text objects)

I'm not sure why the preview file does not update when I copy pages but that's what appears to happen. I do save the project after each action.

Has anyone any thoughts on this... am I using the correct technique to create pages or do I have to build every page from a blank canvas (I mean do I have to insert objects on each page no copying?)

Hope someone can help me with this :)

I think part of this problem is that I have (or now had!) an HTML 5 gallery on each page.

Changing the gallery to Flash at least allows me to create the page... I also copied items one by one... and saved between each copy operation... if I copy without saving and then do another copy object the items won't display.

I have previously reported this problem in this post: http://answers.websitex5.com/post/44164

Well it looks like I can work around the problem but it a very unsatisfactory way of having to do things.

Hello Barry,

Can you please tell me which version you are using? Have you updated the program to the latest release?

Many thanks!

Everything is up to date in V9.

When I remove the HTML 5 gallery I am able to copy the page.

I can live with this.

Hello Barry,

I tried to duplicate the issue. I added a HTML5 Gallery and then I tried to copy and paste the page in step 2 but they were always visible.

Can you please tell me exactly what you did and what content was inside the pages?

Many thanks!

It's difficult to say exactly what I did Smile

However I did have a gallery of every product with links to each product page on the home page and something went wrong but I do not know what.

I ended up deleting the whole gallery (from the home page) and this seems to have cured the problem.

I will re-insert the gallery towards the end of the project hopefully Smile... do all the links again and then copy this gallery to each product page to create a mini-gallery on each product page... I only need 5 products on each mini-gallery and I only want to create the links once!

If I have a problem creating the gallery I will report back.

Thanks for your interest.
