Where's the alt-attribute which belongs to every(!) picture?  en

with all Images the alt-Attribute is the most important Attribute for the correctness of HTML-code. If I use a text object, I can include Pictures, and there should ba a Chance to add that alt-Attribute in any case. Even Google sees Pictures names and alt-value as being important! Even if I use a Picture-object, I cannot clearly see, which value the alt-Attribute is, and that should be invisible on the page! I don't think switching vrom HTML4 to HTML5 will change that. Within version 4 a missing alt-attribute to the img tag is a mistake.

Any solution available?

See attached picture!

If "Alternativtext" is the alt-attribute of the img-Tag, I have to criticise, that the alt-Text can be seen on the page. if the showing the picture works out right, it must be invisible. The only case when the alt-text gets visible is, when the picture cannot be displayed for any reason! That's HTML.  8:o/

Hello Juergen,

The alt attribute is Alternativtext like you noticed and it is shown when the image cannot be displayed: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_img_alt.asp

Some Browser tends to use this attribute wrong and they display it when you are over the image. This depends on how the Browser uses the html code to render it and not on the program itself.

Many thanks!

It's the internet newest explorer I use, and the browser from websiteX5.

Both show that text, and I know well, that the alt-attribute-text normally does not show in internet explorer. I looked up the source code, and found out, that there's no image tag at all, and therefore there is no alt-attribute. (see attached image)

I have to say that this is wrong, because the image-tag is not one of those who have to be replaced by css-code to provide modern webdesign.

Please tell the programmers that the image tag has to be there, and the alt-tag too. that's important to w3c and for google too. 8:o(

Hello Juergen,

From the image in attachment I see that in your installation something is not working correctly because the laternative text should not be visible like it happens on the most users of the program.

I would suggest to try to uninstall the program and then to download it again from your answers.websitex5.com profile and to install it again.

The code generated is always passing the W3C test and in yours something seems to not make it work correctly.

Please keep me updated.

I will try that today.

But I also wish that you add a dialog to add the alt-attribute to those pictures, wich are added within the simple text object, and which are added within the header- and footer-editors!

You know w3c expects that and it's also for those, who cannot see... I know they are just a few, but w3c wants us to be polite...

It's not usefull to create a complex picture object for every picture you add within the text you write. This would be too complicated, especially if you think about how comlex the site-structure becomes if you act like this...

So greetings to the programmers...  8:o)=

Installing didn't help, but chosing the same pic once again did...

Thank you.

Hi!

I did a test, and the "image objects" inserted directly into the page, completing with the addition of "alternate text".
esportanto disk the site in html, I opened with chrome and looked at the source code (ctrl U), and I found that the clause ALT to the inserted picture is there.
so maybe it really is a problem with the installation ....

Instead I'm looking for help on how to insert the clause alt for images of the gallery! without doing it manually one by one with notepad ... would be a disaster.

you can suggest me a method?

Hello Salvatore,

The program generates a javascript gallery where all images are loaded from the javascript file and it is no alt attribute present.

I would like to suggest that you open an "Idea" Post where you describe to us the feature you would like to see implemented in the future releases of WebSite X5.

Many thanks!
