Uploading updated changes to product prices/descriptions?  en

Hello

I have an e-commerce site for a client and they are wanting to update the prices and change som detail on some of the product descriptions.

Can i just download the relative Category section and do the amendments, then reload it without downloading the whole shop of products, rater than going to each individual item and make the change?

I am assuming that amendments like this can be done, as you need the "id" number to do anything when uploading is required. When I tried to download the respective categories I wanted to change I ended up getting the whole product list for the entire shop - and they were all mixed up - not just in their varoius categories. This would take ages in some cases to go through and find the items I wanted to change.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to do this easily please?

Your help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
Ross

Why don't you open the project file with WebSite X5, make the changes to the products, and then export the website to the Internet with WebSite X5?

Thanks Daniel,

I already did that to start it off but with about 1200 products I imported the products by .csv file.

What I'm now trying to do is change details and prices on some of those products and rather than go though and do each one at a time I thought there must be an easier way of downloading the products by category then making the changes, then uploading them again with the new information/prices?.

Then wait for users who have experience with CSV files and editing in Excel (or similar programs).

I myself have no experience with exporting, editing and importing CSV files.

Hello Ross,
unfortunately the export/import function for E-commerce does not allow to only retrieve only a specific category of products.

Thanks Eric,

Would it be worth making it a suggestion for improving the system or is it not a question that is asked regularly enough to warrant putting forward for the powers that be?

Hello Ross,
it has not been a commonly requested feature, but I can report the feedback and in case others mention this as a feature that could be useful, it would increase the likelihood of this being added in the future.

(It > En)  ...maybe I didn't understand the essence of the problem, sorry, but, apart from the sub-variants issue, there shouldn't be any problems. The categories are quickly identified in the spreadsheet, and it's easy to change the values in the relevant section...
....if it's something else, then sorry, I didn't say...

.

ciao
