Problems with X5 Evolution Demo 12

I have downloaded the X5 Evolution Demo 12 for evaluation, and installed it on my laptop (Windows 10, 64 bit).
The installation was successful, and I have created a basic site using one of the free templates, but with 2 problems so far. The site I have created has a Header image, some background colour and 5 pages, each with a different set of parts.
But I cannot add text to any of the the Text box parts - if I select and click Edit, it opens as if to edit, but there is no cursor, so no text can be written. Paste does not work either.
The second problem is that the Preview shows a completely blank screen - no colour or logo showing at all.
What can i change to get this working? Can I change the browser used to preview?

Try to repair the .NET Frameowkrs by following these steps:
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 and then click on OK.
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.6 and then click ok.
Once done try again to open the text object and the preview to see if these works.
