Frequently Asked Questions
Preview & Beta
How should I manage my projects?
Once you open files created with a previous public version of the software in a Beta or a Preview version, these are automatically updated and can no longer be opened in the original version.
Moreover, please consider that the Beta and Preview versions may could show malfunctions which could negatively affect the projects you are working at.
Because of this, we suggest you to use Beta and Preview versions for test projects only or to preventively create a backup copy of your work.
How do I report an issue?
In order for your contribution to the Beta and/or Preview Programs to be constructive, please report any issue you may encounter. Please follow these simple rules to allow us to intervene efficiently:
- Use only WebSite X5 Help Center to report your issues.
- Should your message be referred to a Beta version, please go to the New Message page and write a Question by adding the word "Beta" to your title.
- Should your message be referred to a Preview version, please go to the New Message page and choose the "Preview Program - Question" option.
- If you find a bug, please verify if it has already been reported and possibly solved before opening a new post: you can use the internal search engine for this. If the bug has already been reported, you can decide to add a comment to the already existing post by providing additional useful information which may help solve it.
- If the bug you found has not been reported yet, try to reproduce it so to understand the sequence of operation which causes it. Now, please write your message by describing both the bug and the procedure which made you find it. To make it even more clear, you can add files and images. The more precise and the clearer you can be, the faster we will be able to recreate the bug and fix it.
How can I go back to the public version?
By updating to the Beta version, the public current version will be overwritten.
If you want to go back to your public version, you have to uninstall the Beta version, download the latest public version of the program from your online Account on WebSite X5 Help Center and proceed with the new installation.
In this case, please don't download the suggested updates, as you are still subscribed to the Beta Program.
On the other hand, if you take part in the Preview Program you always have the public version at your disposal.
Once I subscribed, can I leave the Beta and Preview Programs?
You can decide to no longer take part in the Beta and Preview Programs and cancel your subscription at any time.
Go to the Preview & Beta page. Go to Preview Program > Subscription or Beta Program > Subscription, then click the "Deactivate" button next to the licence you have used to activate the Preview version or to receive the updates for the Beta version.
What happens when a Preview version becomes public?
When a Preview version turns into a public one, the Preview Program is temporarily suspended until a new Preview version is available.
The old Preview version will no longer work, so you will need to uninstall it.
When a new Preview version will be available, we send you an e-mail with the instructions to proceed with the installation.
