Jumpy and jerky (unsteady) slide shows 
Author: Jo H.Due to corrupt data, I am having to totally rebuild my entire website and for the last few days I have been working on my slide show presentations. I did point out in earlier correspondence that when I originally constructed my website I was using X5 Evolution 8, which enabled me to more or less sync up the images to music and have the show run just the one time. With following series of X5 (I am now using Ev11) this is no longer possible and there are less features - that's progress for you!! However, I was advised to use third party software and import the completed slide shows back in using mp4 format. This I have now done using in fact two different makes of software. All these slide shows run beautifully smoothly in their own software and in the Windows Media Player. But when I play them within the X5 software they present quite unsteady jerky movements. When the great day comes to upload my whole new website to the net, will the movements be smoothed out? Or is there a process that I can put them through to make them more acceptable to the X5 software?
I would be grateful if any answers could be kept as simple as possible as you are dealing with a very old dinosaur with a small brain when it comes to technology!!

Unfortunately I don't have a crystal ball, but I am quietly confident that everything will be OK for you once you have uploaded the final version of your project to the net.
The preview browser within WebSite X5 is a very lightweight browser which is only really designed for quick checks of your progress now and then. If you look to the top right-hand corner of the screenshot which I've attached then you will see that WebSite X5 allows you to preview your site in any other browser already installed on your system, which may give you better results.
However, even if it doesn't don't be alarmed. When you preview your own PC is doing all the work, serving up the pages and rendering them at the same time. Obviously this process is constrained by the limitations of the processor and memory, etc. of your own system.
When you upload to the net and view your site online the server comes into play, sharing the workload as it were. In addition many servers have far more advanced specifications than most domestic/office computers, and will do a very good job of serving up your webpages to your visitors.
As long as your slideshows are in the correct formats (and it sounds like they certainly are) then I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised when your site goes live on the web.
If there are any issues whatsoever then it would probably be best to cross that bridge when you come to it. You could, for example, try reducing the size (and therefore bandwidth required) of your media files. But I really don't think this will be necessary.
