Advice on accessing a database  en

Hello All,

I am hoping for a little advice. I wish to add a searchable database to my web site. I have mySQL databases available as part of my web hosting and can export data from my desktop computer into a file, such as a .csv file. The database that my data is stored in on my computer is a Filemaker database.

The database is a contacts database of people to be found in cetain cities, or states or by postcodes, etc. and to be able to diplay their telephone numbers and email addesses. I would like to be able to search from a web page to find people and display the correct contact details for them on a web page.

Do you know if any of the object available for the WebsiteX5 could help with this - such as the database viewer or product catalogue, for example? Or if there are other softwares or objects that I could use to effect this?

Many thanks, Tom

Hello Tom,

The database viewer object will display on a page all content of the database table and you will be able to search inside this table with the builtin search function.

Many thanks!

Hi Claudio,

Many thanks for your reply. Is it possible to make it so that all the data isnt displayed at once and there is just a search field or two? So one can type a search into the search box and have the results of the search displayed. If not it would be a great feature and one I would happily pay a good sum for.

Cheers, Tom

Hello Tom,

Unfortunately not since it is built to display immediately all data and then the search box is used to filter through the data.

Many thanks!
