Somehow my website file got revised & saved 2 Evolution 12. Can't open it now

My website was created in Evolution 11. The last time I updated it, it uploaded showing nothing but words, symbols and numbers. I figured out that it somehow got revised in Evolution 12 (I don't know how).
I re-installed Evolution 11 so as to get rid of Evolution 12 because I had no idea where it came from. Now I can't open the website file. I get an error saying it was created in Evolution 12.
How do I convert the website file back to Evolution 11 so I can continue to use it?

Download the most recent version of Evolution 11 here (11.0.8.31):

Once downloaded, right-click on the setup file and select 'Run as administrator'. Follow all prompts to install the software.
Then proceed to open your website projects as normal.
