Can Website Professionl 12 make Tiffany-type menu?  en

Hello.

I am trying out Wesbite X5 Professional 12, and I wanted to know if I can do a specific menu with it.

In the website of Tiffany: http://www.tiffany.ca

when the mouse hover on the menu, let's say "Jewelry", a big box drop-down, with inside a picture, and additional category links like "necklaces", "pendants", etc, which you can click. But all of that is contained within a box, and that single box with all the contents inside serves as the menu's drop-down.

Is it something that can be done with Website, and if yes, how would I achieve it?

Thank you,

Kim

Hello Kim,

Unfortunately such a menu cannot be implemented in WebSite X5 using the native features alone.  You would need to resort to custom code.

WebSite X5 does have the capability to produce drop-down menus:

http://help.websitex5.com/en/v12/pro/index.html?stile_menu.htm

However, they are not as complex as the one cited in your example.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thank you very much. And I imagine that the custom code goes in the "additional content" textbox of the menu setup page?

You can certainly add HTML code there, but depending on the code you were using it may be better to add it in Step 4 Advanced Settings > Statistics, SEO and Code > Expert tab > Custom Code
