Pop-up window for subscription.  en

Hello;

How can I make a pop-up window that will contain a newsletter subscribe now form for those who want to subscribe, and a X or "Not now" button for those that don't want to?

On most professional websites, after entering, after about 1 minute, a pop-up window will appear to allow users to subscribe or to say no. It appears only once to the user, but it appears on any kind of pages, not just the Homepage. Like these websites (wait between 30 seconds-1minute for the window to appear:

Can you please tell me how to do this?

Thank you,

Elsa-Marie

Hello Elsa-Maria

Have you tried using the welcome-page ?

This can be set up to show on the home page or all pages.

Kind regards

John S.

Do you mean the Entry Page, in the Advanced Settings? If yes, I can't find any options that allow to show either on homepage or on all pages. Also, in the Entry Page options, there doesn't seem to be a place where I can set up the email form for the subscription and make it look like the example I showed above...

Could there be a different welcome page somewhere else?

Thank you,

Elsa-Marie

Hello Else-Marie

Yes - I mean the entry page.

I have made a quick example here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/brm02/index.html

I used these settings :

The text is in Danish but you should easy be able to see the settings used. i have set it to be shown on all pages ( but only once - one time shown it will not pop up again ) The mail-form could be better sealed and it is not active.

Please tell when you have seen the page - I would like to remove it again then.

Hope you are helped by this.

Kind regards

John S.

Thank you very much, you can remove your example.

I found out with your example that I was looking at the wrong place; I was trying to see the options in the Entry Page, and I completely missed the obvious Advertising Message setting right beside it. :)

I just have one small issue, though.

When I set it to all pages, so that it can show when a user visit from Google a page other than Homepage, and I set it to show only once, as per your example, it still keeps on popping up on every page when I test it; unlike your own website, where I checked, and where your ad is shown only once as it should, no matter what page I click. Is an issue that dissapears once the website is uploaded/hosted?

Thank you,

Elsa-Marie

Hello Elsa-Marie

It should function when uploaded - Once shown it should not appear again.

Okay, thank you very much for clarifying!

One more question, if you don't mind:

I see in the options I can only make an image, and link that image to a website page (like you did).

But on my example above, most website don't do this. For example, on the example above (what I want to do), the image is replaced by a mail form (so that people can subscribe on the spot). Is that feasible?

I would really like, if possible, not do an image linking to a page where the user will suscribe, but rather make the ad itself be the subscription mail form (like the website in my example above). But I don't see the option to do this...

Thank you,

Elsa-Marie

Hello Elsa-Marie

There will always be an image to attract attention. But the image could also be an image that had some text.

Could for example be like this :

You could also mix text and graphic in the image. I think this could be a good way to handle the subscription.

This way a user that do not want to subscribe only has to click the X - no extra clicking.

A user that wants to subscribe will just have to do an extra click. But he has been presented for a message where he could choose - else he would just see a mail-form and even when the mail-form could have some text, then it could look as an agressive and unwanted message for the user.

I hope my information was valuable and useful for you.

Kind regards
