Google Analytics Tracking code help needed please  en

I am using X5 pro version 13 and need help adding the Google Tracking info to the web site.

I have tried just the tracking ID and checking Google universal analytics.

Then I tried also adding the trakcing code into expert page and placing before closing of head tag

Next I tried pasting the entire script into the tracking ID (these were ideas found from search for help but some refer to versions as old as 9 and not sure if valid for version 13) - google gets "no http response"

The google tag checker states it finds the tracking code but the script is not running - Google advises "Invalid or missing web property ID"

Can you please advise the correct steps to add universal google analtics tracking to my site.

Thanks

Hello David,

Just add the Tracking ID only (no script) at Step 1 Settings > Advanced > Statistics, SEO and Code > Basic (tab) > Statistics > Tracking ID

Nothing else is required.  If you have added any custom code anywhere else in your project then you should remove it.

Be sure to clear your browser cache before testing.

If you continue to experience difficulty then please post a link to the site in question so we can take a closer look at what has been added to your webpage, and where.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thank you.

I also needed to add conversion tracking id to the email contact confirmation page.

Is the correct way to do that by adding html widget and copy conversion tracker code into the html object?

Hello David,

Unfortunately I cannot help you with the use of custom code, but if you have any doubts or issues on how to add them in the pages you made with WebSite X5 you can ask me.

Generally speaking since the functions do not depend on WebSite X5, you can search useful information about the custom code with search engines like google or wait until someone on the community of Answers can help you.

Many thanks!
