Recreating project from _Temp directories

I am using X5 12 Professional. I created a new project and when I was happy with it I uploaded it to the website and it worked ok. I tried to save the project and close X5 but my computer hung (for several hours).
Eventually I rebooted. No project file was saved. I do have the _temp directories. Is it possible to recreate the project or make a new project from the files in the -temp directories?
As an aside - is there a setting to enable automatic saves when uploading?

Tony, I believe the temp directories only exist before a project directory is created, I suspect it may be more efficient to recreate your site by copying and pasting from the published site, although I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
The automatic backup options are accessed via the down arrow next to save.
