After a computer crash, I would like to restore all my projects for WebsiteX5 V13 from a file system backup. I have restored the folder "WebSite X5 v13 - Professional", but some of the projects do not show up and the ones that do show, open up as if they are new or blank.

You also need to restore all folders and files within this folder, That should do the trick. If not then it could be that the backup is not complete. It's always best to make project backups this is one file and can easily be stored in a different drive location. Hope you will find the other files Gabriel,

Andre, I have a complete backup of the entire directory with 12 projects in it. Restoring it to the same location on the new pc is not doing the trick. Only 3 of the projects show up and none of them actually work. When I open them, they are all blank. I can understand if I somehow corrupted the project I was actually working on during a crash, but these projects had not been touched in several days and none of them work. There has to be something else to this. Can you guys test this process out and tell me what I am missing? This is too much work to just start from scratch.

Never mind, I figured out what the problem is. I have not yet resolved it, but perhaps this will help someone out. I use Genie Timeline as a backup and while it has some issues, it provides a way to go back several iterations which can come in very handy if you want to restore a file to a particular day or version. Since it does this using internal controls, the file is appended with a version number which is not normally visible to the end user. Since I manually restored the files with the version number, X5 was not recognizing them. I manually cleaned up one of the project directories, renaming all of the latest versions and it sort of worked. Because of this, I know the problem is with my backup and I should be able to figure it out. Thanks for your assistance.
