The main menu in my project is screwed up. How do I fix it?  en

The main menu in my project is now an icon with three horizontal black lines inside a gray box.If I click it, I get the main menu. This happened when I tried pasting in some HTML code and now I can't get it back to the way it was and the template is no longer available (or I can't find it). How can I fix it?

If the menu items don't fit the room that's in the template menu (width) then x5 automaticly goes back to the hamburgermenu.

So make the menu items smaller or make the template(menu) widther.

That will fix it.

Best Regards

Andre

Dear Barry,

please follow Andre's suggestion. You can also try and redure the font and margin size of the menu items, so to fit in the menu space.

Please let me know if I can be of any help. Kind regards.

I've tried changing everything in Main Menu parameters and nothing gets rid of the hamburger. I created a new project and applied the same template (Technology 30). It has the same hamburger. I've tried other combinations of a new project folder, a new project, and a different template. The only thing that gets rid of the hamburger is a new project with a different template. Changing the project folder makes no difference. I think Technology 30 is cursed with a hamburger forever. I don't want to use a different template because I've received several compliments on the site.

in the main menu you need settings Width, make it smaller, how many menu items do you have?

Try to disable a view just for test to see if the hamburger menu goes away. (hide a view with button on top in step3)

Try as Elisa says to reduce the font size.

In the template go to resolution and responsive design, edit the desktop to make the breakpoint larger. and so the template widther with more space for the menu buttons.

Just remember there is in the horizontal menu for the width space that equals to the width of all menu buttons and there witdh. If there are too many or they are to width they simply don't fit and then x5 switches to the menu button.

Also update to latest version. I have latest version and used technology 30 in an empty project and it does not show the hambureger menu.

Hope this will help you Barry,

Andre

Changing the width and font size of the main menu does nothing. There are only six visible pages in the map and no levels. Technology 30 is a vertical menu template so there's no horizontal space problem.

I don't have any views defined because it's a desktop-only site. The default resolution is 993. I haven't enabled responsive design because there's no need for it.

I have the latest version of X5 Pro.

Hello Barry,

please try and increase the size of the space dedicated to the menu, if this does not help please send us the link to your website, so we can verify. If it's not online, you can export it in a temporary folder.

Please let keep me informed. Kind regards.

Thank you Barry,

I have now techn 30 vert menu (they are both available) and you are correct, the menu stays even in standard opening as hamburegermenu in the non responsive mode.

Solve it by going to step2 template customization -> main menu style, then top left Width set it to 142. that should solve it. Standard it is set to 144.

or

Solve it by making the menu widther, goto step2 template customization, select template structure, goto size, Witdth set it to 145 ( i think it was standard 142 or 143)

That does the trick as well.

@ Incomedia,

I have seen more menu's that do this, it might be good to check them all, they should not start with the hamburgermenu.
