Keep broken picture links

When a picture link does not fit anymore (two reasons: 1 picture is not there anymore, or network drive or path is changed) you see in WSX5 a frame where the p[icture should be.
Editing the frame you can't see the path anymore to where the link is/was. It would be VERY HELPFULL to let the path in it's place so it is (very) more easy to see which piture should be there and to correct the path by hand...

Have you tried right clicking on the file name (assuming it is there), this normally gives the option to open the source folder?
However, why not be pro-active??
I always create a source folder within the project folder. If I want to use anything for the project I always copy it there and use it from there. Makes it easy to find - even years down the track.

Hello Eshc, thanks for your reply. And yes I had one source dir, but therefore I had to copy every picture which i want to use in my HP. And i have a default picture root where i store all my pictures, which never changes. But with every Programm update there are a couple of pictures of which the picture is "gone". Very anoying, but it's true.
So than i have to see first at the online HP which picture is used, and than track it down in my picture root..
If you have to maintain one site it is not a big problem, but with a couple of sites it is everytime a bad job..

And i use other programms (not webdesign programms) where the link stays, so it is possible.. ;-)
Whilst I feel the pain :-) I copy every object I require to the source directory of the project in question, even if this is duplicating the file. In doing so the source NEVER changes.
Having said this, I do not understand why the location of a file should change or disappear, this must be extremely annoying with objects like images in a text cell where there is no file path recorded. Of course if the object is on a network drive and the mapping changes, I do not see how WX5 (or any other program) can track such a change.

Well, in other programs the link is stored in the database.. :-)
And at the other programms I work with you can set a default path (for example Y:\projects\images\.. )and the program makes his own directories behind the last \
If there is change of a server and the mapping Y is already used, you can change the default path to a other drivemapping and avery picture link (or PDF or whatever) is still working.
But also in just regular HTML the link is alsways stored. In WX5 there is only a blanc box left of where the picture should be..
And as written before, this is happening a lot with every programm upgrade. So even you solution of using a default picture dir, will not solve the disapairing and you have to "reconnect" the pricture..
