Hi All,
This may seem a silly question to the experts amongst you, however not being an expert myself, please bear with me. I have built websites using X5 from blank templates and customised them rather than "buying" templates from Incomedia an example of one of my websites is www.naphillvillagehall.org.uk
My question is does X5 add cookies to websites built with it and if so what are they, what do they do, where do I find them, how do I change them if required and how do they fit in with the new GDPR in the EU.
Any advice or information would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jim

Hello Jim
X5 creates cookies. It does it for the convenience of the users.
In the cookies is as example, if you have logged in.
Also if you choose to show the cookie "banner" then it is in a cookie that the banner has been shown, so it will not be shown on again.
You can Google the use of cookies.
Kind regards
John S.
Hey Jim,
Normally it's ok for Incomedia to take GDPR in consideration for next weeks and fixes into Website X5 v??

Hi John and FALCK Axel,
Thank you for your prompt feedback, you both put a lot of time and effort into this Help Forum, please keep up the excellent effort.
I have Googled "cookies" and came up with a website that tests your website for cookies it shows my site at http://www.naphillvillagehall.org.uk as having four first party cookies, which I do not know what they are and four third party requests which are for Google Analytics which I understand.
So, in conclusion I will put up with this at the moment and await Incomedia's fix, (yes I still believe in Santa Claus as well).
Many thanks,
Jim
Hello Jim
I took a look at your site.
I can see you use the Hallmaster for bookings.
If you eventually should need an alternative, I could suggest the LuxCal web calendar.
This system has a booking feature, and a lot of other functionality. And it is free.
It has no invoicing feature, but if you do not need this, then it is better than the Hallmaster.
It is easy to integrate in the X5
Just for information
Kind regards

Hi John,
Thank you for your feedback. I had been following one of your previous postings where you highly recommended LuxCal web calendar. Having had a look at LuxCal, I am very impressed with it, however I have not had time to test it out yet, but having viewed LuxCal on your pages it would certainly meet our needs. Hallmaster was recommended as it is used by many village halls for room bookings, however we do not use it for invoicing etc. so LuxCal would be ideal and more importantly it is free which is always a bonus for charitable organisations.
I will make the Village Hall committee aware of LuxCal and your recommenadtions.
Best wishes,
Jim
