Can I import from Backup files (not an iwzip file)  en

I had a computer crash and hadn't done a backup in a while (not too smart). I reinstalled my X5 software no problem and am generally ready to go. I now find that I only have a few backup copies made after a did an export project to a folder - these are NOT the .iwzip files, but the complete package as seen at my internet service provider. My question is it possible to do an import from these files and start editing again or am I going to have to use a very old iwzip file that I have and do a whole lot of rework to get it back to where I had it.

My site is www.tekfx.ca

Many Thanks in advance

Bill, you cannot import a "website" (ie the files generated when you export to disk or the internet).

You should have an iwzip which was created by you when you moved from v14 to v15 (if you did so).

The only other possibility would be the backup folder in your project folder. If you upload using the inbuilt FTP, a backup is created each time. Please use Windows Explorer to take a look. If backup files exist, copy the most recent up to the project directory, now return to the project directory, rename project.iwprj2 to project-broken.iwprj2 and then rename the backup as project.iwprj2.

Let us know if you have success??

Couldn't the back up process be a little more simple and easy to understand?

Duncan, oddly for those using the Pro version it is a simple one click operation, for Evo users Incomedia choose to make if difficult. However, a better question is, why don't incomedia make backups reliable, far too often the backup restore fails because not all required files a backed up.

Incomedia should replace the backup routine with the export routine so that every backup is an iwzip (incrementally named). This would create a bullet proof reliable backup - that would be nice.
