Shopping cart problem  en

Hi,

I have been asked to develop a website that can be used to arrange Taxi transfers from home to a selected airport and back home on a return date, with an option to collect payment.

I set up a single page project to test out feasability of X5 V15 Pro V15.2.0.1 being used. Using the Included Shopping Cart I have changed the headings, cart messages and some of standard Page Text held in (1) Website Settings  ->  ‘Content Language’ fields to suit the requirement. So far so good.

Using the Advanced Tab in the Website Settings  -> ’ Shopping Cart’ -> ‘Customer Details’ Tab I have added 6 additional ‘Visible’ Fields to add in fields to collect data relating to Pick up and Collect clients.

The field titles added are :-

  • ‘Flight Number Outbound’
  • Outbound Date & Flight Time
  • No of Passengers Outbound,
  • ‘Flight Number Inbound’
  • Inbound Date & Flight Time
  • No of Passengers Inbound (if different to Outbound)

Using the green ‘Up’ arrow to move, the newly created, bottom text item up causes the display to lose one of the entries.

Is this a bug and is there a limit to the number of fields that can be added. The software allows the adding of more than six fields but the moment you relocate the bottom item it loses 1 or more of the added notes.

If I save the item then reenter the 'Customer details' option the 'Up' and 'Down' arrows appear to work OK. Its only when making changes or adding and moving items that the problem occurs.

Hi Nigel.

I can confirm that there is no limit to the number of field you can insert, and this looks more like a display bug.

Would it be possible for you to attach more screenshot displaying this? Since it not very clear to me as to how this shows and what steps you're taking to make it happen.

Keep me updated

Stefano

Hi Nigel,

I tried analyzing this issue again, but I believe I did not understand the issue properly.

I'm wondering if what you mean is this.

If I add a certain amount of fields, and then click on the green arrow, the list bounces me up to the top, potentially hiding entries under the scroll space.

Is this what you're seeing as well? Because I'm getting no item removed by simply doing so, and I also don't see that in the screenshots.

Keep me updated

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

Using the 'Advanced' Tab in the '(1)Website Settings'  -> ’ Shopping Cart’ -> ‘Customer Details’ Tab option, I have added 6 additional ‘Visible’ Fields to collect data relating to 'Picking up' and 'Collect' clients.

See the attached picture.

The fault can also be seen by clicking on the 'New Item' and then using the 'Green arrow' to move the text up the list.

You will need to enter the 5/6 lines of data to see the problem, hence my question about the number of permissable lines.

If you save the amended project and reopen it, a line has also disappeared.

Hope this helps

regards Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I see unable to reproduce this error.

I would like to ask you this : Can you try this behavior on a new project? See if it happens there too?

Also, did you try this with the nonbeta version of the software? Did it use to work there?

In case, could you try to rollback your version and try to update the software once again to the latest beta version?

Please let me know

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

I have rolled back to the non Beta version (15.1.1), created a new project and it is a problem in 15.1.1.

It occurs from the 6th new added line onwards (Excluding the 'Where did you hear....' line).

You can add more lines and they appear as expected

Its when you use the upward green arrow to move any line upwards, The display loses items taking then displayed lines back to 5.

I don't have any difficulty in creating the problem.

Can other users try this function?

regards Nigel

Hi Nigel.

I'm really sorry, but  I just can't seem to be able to get this effect.

I create 7 new lines, then move one up with the green arrow, and whether I save and go back or stay there, I keep seeing all of them.

Did you try on a new project? Does it happen there too?

Maybe I am missing a step

Let me know

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

This test was a new clean project with only the standard pages created.

I have created a 6 line example and saved it OK, no arrow up with the bottom line.

I have then gone back to the Customer details, added in 2 further lines making 8, clicked on the 'Green' Tick at the top of the page. Returning back to the 'Website Settings' page.

From this I reenter the 'Shopping Cart' in Website Settings, I then click on the 'Customer details' Tab to redisplay the 'Field List. There are now only 6 items, 2 have disappeared.

There is definitely something amiss.

The relocate line' option is still losing a line.

Is there any user out there who can give this a try.

Kind regards Nigel

Hi Nigel.

I would like to thank you for providing such specific details in your latest post.

I was now able to verify the issue.

I will proceed to further test this and will eventually forward it to the developers for further examination

I will notify you here as soon as they get back to me about it

I reiterate my thanks
