I had the same problem whilst beta testing, but I can't remember the solution.Frown

I've created a guestbook, the guestbook displays correctly, it saves the file on the web server, the file contains the correct data, I receive the email about new entry, I click on the link to see the message, enter the correct login in details to see the comment, but it says that there are no comments.

Someone remind me please.

The only thing I can find is that the file in the guestbook directory is called

gb52e9b85v

where the file name in X5 Widget is called

52e9b85v

So, the program is creating the 'gb52e9b85v' file when a comment is added, but is it looking for the '52e9b85v' file when approving?

Could it be something to do with the project being started under a beta version and then completed with the release version?

I have deleted and recreated the HTML box and assosicated widget but still the same 'gb' at the start of the file, even though the rest of the filename is now different.

What is weirder still, I created a completely new project, with just a guestbook, and it worked first time!

I'm very confused!

Any help, thoughts, jokes even!

Did you check the admion section of your site?

Got at www.yourwebsite.com/admin (of course, replace yourwebsite.com with your site's url).

Use your administrator ID and password to log in (you'll find those in step 4, Advanced settings, access manager) and check if every settings under Website Test turn green If not, you'll be presented the error and a possible solution.

Dont forget that the guestbook folder's permissions on your server have to be set to 777 to permit adding comments.

All three bars are green Smile

I created a new guestbook, created a new guestbook directory before any comments where added, chmod to 777. Smile

The guestbook creates the file within this directory Smile

I received an email telling me that a new comment has been added Smile

When I log in no comments are found within the guestbook section Frown

I added a new guestbook but with the option to automatically display the comment.

The comment appears on the website as soon as a comment is left Smile

I received the email, I login, no comments are found Yell

I can only think of 2 possible solutions at this point:-

1 - Try using the build in uploader rather than manually ftping the website. Undecided This would mean uploading 85 Mb of video everytime.

2 - Create a new project, create and test a working guestbook, rebuild the website around this guestbook Cry

I've the same problem, I can see 2 comments in my guestbook, but when i login to the admin module, it says "No comments".

If I try to click on Abuse, it have no effect at all.

This must be a bug :o/.

I can find the 2 comments on the root directory of my website, and manually delete them, but I can't see them or delete them in the admin module.

Found the problem.

The website I had created in X5 v.8 and imported across under General Settings had a Website Address (URL) of http://www.this.com

When I admitted defeat and was recreating the website, I entered the address again, but this time it added / to the end of the URL giving http://www.this.com/

That missing / was all that was stopping the guestbook from working properly!

Hope this helps you too Lars Smile
