Error code lPersistFile::Save failed; code 0x80070002 during a new install
Author: Don D.Yesterday, I bought a X5 Evolution download, which wouldn't install after numerous attempts. Just prior to each install attempt completion, I always got the error message, “lPersistFile::Save failed; code 0x80070002” “System cannot find the file specified” prior to the install completion. (attached) Then the X5 homepage can open, but the software doesn't do anything.
After reading these help suggestion pages, I’ve tried several fixes . . . open it as administrator . . . turned-off firewall during the install. . . I always completely uninstalled previous downloads prior to each reinstall . . . looked in the registry to clean it, but ‘Incomedia’ software was not in it . . . deleted the Templates folder, etc. in the users files, etc.
I now assume the download software I received is corrupted and want to persue getting a X5 CD to install the software. Any suggestions, or comments would be appreciated? Thank you. Don D.
Don, you can download a fresh copy of the install through your profile (top right), just click on download.
I have no idea what this error means, but since you almost certainly managed to install and run the demo, you may wish to look for and delete these folder's
documents/Incomedia(if you have created any projects with the demo you wish to keep, copy the Website X5 folder as a backup before proceeding)
and users/yourname/Appdata/Incomedia
If this doesn't work hopefully someone will step up with a solution.

Thank you Esahc. I found the error code was a W10 code related to corrupted updates and wound-up resetting my W10 installation. The X5 software downloaded - it works fine and the staff help are also great.
