X5 Pro published html filesizesAuthor: Adrian B.
I am wanting to compare the published .html filesize of X5 Pro generated pages with that of other authoring tools.
For my website, abthermal.com, each product landing page usually contains 3 objects: some text, a small image, pdf viewer link. The nomimal published html filesize is 250K. Some are a little smaller - 5 to 10K smaller, and some a little bigger - 5 to 10K bigger.
I consider that very big.... maybe so big that it negatively effects my page rank speed??
My previous authoring tool (blue voda), (a non-responsive html GUI html editor) the published html pages with the same content were considerably smaller - nominal about 8 to 20K.
So about 10 to 20 times smaller......
I am trying other authoring tools out to see what the result is for the same page content. For example Mobirise the same page is only 3.8 K!! And mobirise seems to do a good job of responsive content display.
Has anyone else done similar testing with other software?
Does anyone know why X5 html pages would be so large for the same content? Am I doing something wrong with X5? I have no fancy backgrounds, videos, special effects. I will admit X5 has much better tools for control of objects than some other software - but it seems at the expense of a lot of overhead which puts the page load time for my site much higher than the similar content of my competitors...... and google would punish my ranking for that.
Any thoughts or comments?
