Finding where to change items in new template  en

Hi I have purchased a new template called Tamarillo which is designed for Websitex5 pro 14, I am using pro 17 the system changed it so I could use 17.

I have figured out most things and got the new pages ready to go but there are a few things I cannot find where to change.  I have asked for support twice in the last two days but nothing received from their support team at the moment. So it is a bit frustrating.

I have attached a screenshot to show the problem I am having - a few things I need to do before I can publish.

1.  How do I find the image that is shown as the background image in this screen shot?

2. There are two boxes shown in the image, one says web design and the other read more, where do I find these to change or delete?

3. Under my page name there are words html 5 template for etc, and different words appear at the beginning of each section.  I cannot see these words when I put in my words, but then they appear.  I have searched and searched but cannot find where I can delete these words.

Can anyone help me please?

thanks in anticipation.

Regards

Susan

Hi Susan,

That box with "Web Design" and the one with "Read More" are in your header. I haven't got v17 open right now but I will do so in about an hour (I have a meeting now) and try and take you through how to remove these.

After opening your project in X5, go to number 2 (Template). Click on Template Content and you will see tabs for Header, Footer and Sidebar. Use the Desktop resolution when you click on Header. There are sliders that let you see everything visible in the Header. Try and spot the things you want to remove and double click on one at a time to check that they are what you think they are.

Right clicking on them will give you the option of removing them. Let me know if you need more help and I will try to get a screenshot for you.

On the left hand side you have the option to set up the header and footer for desktop, mobile and tablet. Using the top one (desktop) gives you the best view of all the header contents.

The first one where you have header, footer, etc was the one I expected to find the issue. My template has a much larger header area then yours, so X5 puts in sliders so I can scroll around it. Yours has no sliders.

However, the big picture where the unwanted writing is situated, is not in your header. It must be on your first actual page - step 4 "Pages". The big image that you have there could have the lettering on top of it somehow, or it could be some sort of mouseover effect. It seems that the template you are using came out in v14 and when you used it for your site, some of the original formatting is still there...but I am not sure exactly where in X5 you can edit it!

Try moving on to "Pages" and see if the large image actually has that text superimposed on it. If it's a supplied image, that may be the case. Have you tried using one of your own landscape format images in it's place?

Susan, did you purchase this template through x5tuts (which appears to be no more)? Unfortunately I do not have this template and do not know what techniques were used to achive the end result. There is at least one other post on here dealing with this template, hopefully this may offer a hint on the required steps (but I suspect this is hardly for a novice)

. . .   I have left a message for Jamie Bainbridge in the hope he is still actively involved.

Hi esahc we are still going but now we have changed the domain and rebranded to https://www.mixupmarket.com so all of our templates and tutorials are still supported for anyone that used them from the x5tuts website.

Susan please check your emails we have responded to you. But have you thought about upgrading to website x5 2019 as we have removed alot of custom coding from our templates as it was no longer required. Plus you get both the evo and pro versions of the template in the new 2019 versions. I would be more than happy to exchange your download if you wish.

Thanks for messaging me esahc

Regards

Jamie
