I make websites for various clubs (choirs, sports clubs etc.) . This means that only members get access to the member's area and not just anyone can register. So I use manual registration. But still I want the possobility for members to change their own password and to retrieve a forgotten password. At the moment this is not possible.
Would it be possible to introduce it as a new funvc=ction in the next version?
If it would only be possible to work with a database but leave out the self-registration form...
I would be very grateful if you could make it possible.

Hello Piet,
with the manual registration the password must always be changed by the website owner.
But for your case I may suggest you to use the automatic registration:
You can let everybody register to your site but only people you want will be able to see the protected contents.
In order to achieve this you can create a group in the private area and let only people in this group to access your proteced page. People registered automatically, once synced in the software, are inside the "automatic registration" group but you can drag them into the other group.
More info about the automatic registration here: https://help.websitex5.com/en/v2020.1/pro/index.html?area_riservata.htm
Hope this helps

I see, thank you for your advice. But would it not be a lot easier if I could just leave out the registration form? It seems to me t would be quite simple for Incomedia to give this option in a new version. Just by a tick box or something...
Hello Piet
I apologize but I do not understand what you mean by this.
In the automatic registration the user must be able to see the form or he would not be able to register. At the same time, you cannot allow a manual user to change its password since it would not be updated in the software. You would then find that the project has out of sync passwords with the manual users
I hope I was clear enough, but let me know if you have any doubt
Thank you

Sorry that it was not clear what I mean. I will try to explain more clearly.
I think it would not be too difficult to add this new function: choose to work with a database without auto-registration.
I hope I am more clear now.

Hello Piet
Thank you for the clarification.
I have to confirm that, in order to achieve what you need, you will mandatorily have to use the Manual Registration for now.
The topic is set as Idea so that it might be kept under consideration by the Staff for future improvements

Thank you. I hope they will see it as an improvement. I am sure I am not the only one who works for clubs and encounters the same problem.
