Would anyone care to exchange program versions? I would give up my Website x5 v17 license in exchange for v13  en

Dear Team and Forum Members,

Over the years I have bought licenses for some of the newer versions of the program, however, I still trust and use v12 Evo. I would like to use v13 Evo which I do not possess. I heard that Incomedia does not give licenses for older versions (or do they?) so I was thinking if anyone would care to exchange his/her v13 Evo license with my v17, or 2019.1 version? If yes, could the team please help with the procedure (license transfer etc)? Thank you. Best regards, Daniel

Hello Daniel,

I've marked your post for Incomedia's attention and official advice.

However, the licence agreement does state that a WebSite X5 licence is non-transferable:

WebSite X5 End User Licence Agreement

The support team will be able to clarify the position when they respond (usually within 24-72 hours).

Kind regards,

Paul

Daniel, I am intrigued. Do you imagine that v13 is more stable than later versions? Has functionality changed in the later versions that you do not like?

V2019.1 is at least still supported by Incomedia. And of course, anything created or opened in v17 or v2019 cannot be opened in v13

Dear Paul and Esahc, Thank you for your comments and advise. I did not know about license issues, transfer policies. Could Incomedia perhaps give me a license for v13? To be honest, I am more happy with ealier versions of the program than later versions. V10 and 12 work just fine and v16, 17 was sluggish and buggy at least on my system (Win7 64 bit).

Thank you for your continued help.

Best, D

Dear Daniel,

thank you for getting in touch.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with a version 13 licence, I am sorry about this. If you find a user who is willing to give you his own, please don't forget we need to receive a written confirmation via e-mail by the current owner in order to move the licence from his or her account onto yours.

That said, I wouldn't recommend using an older version instead of the new one: you risk in fact to create websites which do not comply completely with the most modern web standards. This affects not only the included functions, but the compatibility of the website with the modern browsers as well.

I would suggest you to consider switching to version 2020.2 instead, so to be able to use the most updated version. Here you can find a discount: https://www.incomedia.eu/en/software.php

Thanks! Kind regards.
