Spell Checking X5 Evolution  en

Dear community,

I have been using Website X5 Evolution for many years and have renewed each year in order to keep up the upgrades to stay current.  My only biggest gripe with this software is the lack of a simple spell checker.  This feature may not sound like much, but it seriously makes a difference when spending hours on varoius projects to only later have to go back in and edit due to typos.

With the above being said and ironically, my time to renew again is growing near, I need to know if we are ever going to see a spell checker be brought to this software?  I also noticed that this year the price is even higher than in prevous years.  So, I am honestly on the fence with renewing and looking elsewhere.  Please don't get me wrong.  I do love so much about this software, but the lack of a spell checker is simply unaccepetable.

Any advice or knowledge of a future update that is going to bring this feature would kindly be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Danny

We asked about it years ago, it has not yet been implemented, presumably the resources of wx5 are burdened too much. Maybe it should be set as an idea again.

Our solution: We test the spelling of the homepage online and adjust the texts in the project on a second PC and after the upload we check whether it is ok.

Hi JJ,

Thank you for your input.  I, too, have found solutions by copying and pasting text from website projects into various other programs and tools that do check for spelling.  When dealing with mulitple projects this just seems to be a more time consuming process for me and interrupts work-flow.  Having it builit into the software just simply makes more sense to me.

I don't often complain about a products features, but this one has been a request of mine ever since I began with wx5.  For website software that is one of the best, in my opinion, this feature would take it over the top.

Thanks again for your input, I do truly appreciate it.

Danny

I have set this as IDEA post because it's not in the software at the moment so Incomedia needs to create this, as it is asked in the passed, hopefully a lot of users wil agree with this IDEA so Incomedia can take a look at it, i know they made serious efferts to implement this but there where some issues to get it done neatly.... ( i don't recall exactly why anymore)

maybe Incomedia could have another go at it?

Andre,

Thank yo so much for setting this as an IDEA post.  I really hope they listen this time around.  The software is so good in every other aspect.  Adding the spell checker just makes sense for a complete solution.

Thanks, too, for the workaround links.  Much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Danny
