It's irritating in the new version and I can’t work out how to remove.

G.Mark, I do not know how to remove it either, but this is the same functionality as in v2020.3.

The side "help" panel (stealer of realestate) appears if the window is wider than 1390px on my setup.

Hello. You cannot remove this panel: "As for the help section, you are absolutely right that it can no longer be closed permanently. It will always be presented when space permits. If the screen space is too small, the Help sidebar disappears and the Help button appears at the top." (Stefano G. Incomedia).

I didn't really like that either.

Seriously? Look at this. The useful part of the screen that I'm working with is only 40%

Another 30% is the page objects that could be stacked vertically.

The help pane is another 15% that I don't need to see. It's just annoying.

The navigation is another 15%. I can live with that.

Ironically the only time I've used the help panel is to search on how to hide the help panel and it didn't help.

Hi everyone,

thank you for getting in touch.

The suggestion bar is open by default and, as for now, it isn't possible to hide it. We have introduced it because not all users are familiar with the Help Center or our Guides, so we thought it would have been convenient for all users to have access to some help while working at the project. Please consider that, if the space isn't enough, the bar is automatically hidden, so to give keep enough work space.

However, given your as well as other users' feedback, we have decided to possibly add an option to hide the bar for future updates.

Please let me know if I can be of further help. Kind regards.

Credit where credit is due?

Incomedia not only enable optionally hiding the help pane on wide windows, but the help button is now always visible on the WX5 header. Clicking it gives the info that would have displayed in the help pane. Also, tapping F1 opens the online help manual at the appropriate section.

An annoyance (optionally) removed but all functionality remains.

Sorry - I only just noticed.
