Default value in contact form

On the contact form, I want an list or choice to default to a value. I dont want to user to have to select. Is that possible" On the registration page, i want alumni to be a default value.

You could do it as a "Simple Selection" with just one list item and a checkmark for "Mark as mandatory input", then the user has to make this one selection "Alumni" when they want to submit the contact form.
That's my suggestion, the experts would have to comment on other solutions.
