Changed webhosts- email forms not working; php or other issue?  en

I just changed webhosts to BLUEHOST

I am using Website X5 EVO 2024.3.2

I have tried using different PHPs (8.3 is latest, also offer 8.2, 8.1 & 7.4)

But no matter what PHP I set the email forms do not seem to be working (I am not receiving the emails)

My website is (and two pages with forms to email me)

http://www.letusinsureyou.com/

http://www.letusinsureyou.com/contact.html

http://www.letusinsureyou.com/groupquote.html

Is the reason I am not getting emails a PHP issue? or are there some other settings that I need to set?

Besides PHP settings, I noticed in step 5 under PARAMETERS there are three tabs:

FTP Parameters

Data Management

E-Mail (which gives a choice of E-Mail script type):

PHP Mailer (recommended)

SMTP

AUTHENTICATED SMTP

STANDARD SCRIPT

LOW QUALITY SERVER SCRIPT

LOW-LEVEL SCRIPT

Would this setting be a factor?

Do I need to coordinate this with the webhost?

Are there any other settings / issues?

There are 3 things to consider:

1. The script type depends on the web host; for security reasons, SMTP authentication may increasingly be required.

2. A domain email address is required, not Gmail, GMX or similar email addresses.

3. Depending on the web host, you may need to uncheck the box next to “Allow sending from alternative senders”.

According to the domain query via WHOIS.com, bluehost.com could be the web hosting provider. Have you asked bluehost.com about the correct settings for sending PHP emails?

bluehost has been NO help.

I have tried changing PHP settings.

they do not have 7.4 PHP after all.

They have 8.1, 8.2 & 8.3. I tried different PHP settings in the BLUEHOST but have not been able to make it work.

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY... I have pointed the DNS for the website to BLUEHOST. But my emails are using MICROSOFT EXCHANGE. I have not changed that settings.

In Website X5 while EXPORT, UPLOAD TO THE WEBSITE, FTP and DATABASE CONNECTION PARAMETERS, UNDER the button titled PARAMETERS, under EMAIL, I am using the email: *** (which is my domain name).

I also looked at BLUEHOST and it showed a bunch of emails received, but mail delivery FAILED. I am thinking that I need to specify MICROSOFT EXCHANGE info using SMTP and then specifying the appropriate info for MS EXCHANGE?

The Incomedia employees will be online during office hours in Italy from Monday, maybe they can help.

Hello Samuel,
does the address associated with the domain otherwise work regularly, if you send an e-mail to or from it directly?

What is the current status for this setting?

the email address does work. I get my email seperate from the website (MS Exchange)

I have played with the ALLOW SENDING FROM ALTERNATIVE SENDERS... sometimes check it & sometimes uncheck it

as it turns out, yesterday the email form started working. someone told me that it can take up to a day or two to have a new website start working with settings previously set (until it POPULATES??)

The only problem is I have changed these settings so many times, I am not sure if it will keep working.

What would you suggest I set for the general settings?

PHP- what settings? 8.1, 8.2, 8.3? or do I have to go back to 7.4?

and for email script type (when uploading- email parameters)- should I use

PHP mailer

SMTP

Authenticated SMTP

Standard Script

Low quality server script

Low Level Script

ALLOW SENDING FROM ALTERNATIVE SENDERS.- should I check it or not?

Hello Samuel,
I would suggest using PHP 8.2, which is the most recent version supported by the software.
Depending also on the hosting provider's recommendations/requirements, PHP mailer or Authenticated SMTP are commonly used.
Regarding Alternative senders, it depends on whether your provider natively supports the use of a customer's address as the "From" address, while the "Sender" address will remain the one set by you in Step 5 - Export.
Some providers require changes in configuration for this to be enabled.
