YouTube in preview X5-10  en

I loaded a YouTube film in my website, see f.i. www.piggybanks.nl, “Particular banks – cress or cia pigs”. It works in X5-9, and also in X5-10, but not in the preview. There I get the message: “To play the video Adobe Flash or a browser with HTML5 support is needed”. Uploading to the web however gives no problem and I can play the YouTube film. Is there something wrong with the browser WebsiteX5 uses for the preview? All my other browsers are up to date: IE 10, Google Chrome, Firefox 21.0.

Hope (again) for a solution. Thanks, Gert

Hi Gert,

Website X5 uses a slimmed down version of Chrome (known as Chromium) as the preview browser.  Therefore it is necessary to install media plugins for the Chromium browser, even if your plugins are up-to-date for IE10, Chrome and Firefox.

See the following thread for further details:

Hi Gert,

You need to start the install from within the X5 preview.

Open any project in X5, then open the preview browser.  Paste the following link into the preview browser address bar, then press 'Enter'

http://get.adobe.com/en/flashplayer/

Follow all prompts and install instructions, then be sure to close X5 down before restarting again to test in preview mode.

Let me know if you get stuck!  Smile

IT WORKS!

Thank you Paul! Innocent For your quick answers and your patience!

But...... Is it fair to introduce a new release X5-10 without this flashplayer and leave it to your members to puzzle this out? I don't think so......, however I learned a lot!

Best wishes. And until the next problem or question.
