If I follow a post in answers, I expected that it would send me an email if anyone commented.
Doesn't seem to. What does it do?

Hello Duncan,
You're right, following a post doesn't activate any sort of automatic email notification of replies.
It's basically just a way of keeping tabs on posts that you're currently interested in, by creating a shortlist... rather like the 'Favourites' facility in a web browser.
Used in this way it does make it much quicker to find a post as opposed to wading through the entire forum, or even using the site search.

It would be so good if it sent an alert when a comment is posted.
