Adding image ALT attribute directly to an image when using the TextEditor.

http://answers.websitex5.com/post/33982

We are trying to follow SEO advice in relation to adding ALT TEXT AND TITLES directly to images, and whilst we understand the ability to do so when using either Image Object or Gallery Objects - we are having difficult adding the same directly to an image when embedded within our text box.

The above answer (albeit does not have the answer) has the same question - although i have X5 8, 9 and 10 it makes no difference to which version i am using.

"><img src="images/Horizontal-line.jpg" style="width: 408px; height: 4px;" alt="" title=""

As you can see the source code above shows them both as being blank - or - empty yet my SEO program is showing the following " The image description (IMG alt attribute) is empty and cannot be used by Google and other search engines to easily identify the image"

So how would i actually add the alt and title - unless i were to copy the whole page source code (once done into HTML) then edit the HTML, and paste the HTML into the HTML Object - which would then defeat the point of using X5 and a WYSIWYG editor - as if i could write the source code directly in HTML, i would have done it in the first place.

So to summarise - when is X5 going to have an update that allows ALT TEXT and ALT TITLE added to an IMAGE using the TEXT EDITOR.

Hello Michael,

in the image object, you need specify the title and the alternative title.

In the text object you need export the site on the disk and modify manually the HTML code, you can insert the alt and title for these images.

my adviceis to usethe image object for the Image and not the text object.

Hope this help.

Thanks you for your answer.

Yeah, i understand that - but it is a bit of a pain - because if i then amend the HTML manually, yet go back to the program and make some modifications - then any amendments in the html would have been lost.

We have some headers and footers and lines etc that are images - that we have to have within the text object.

Surely adding this within a facility within the program - perhaps to right click and add ALT TEXT and ALT TITLE would be a good and useful, and probably well required facility?
