.NEt Framework 3.5 problem with x5 Pro 12

While trying to install x5 Professional 12, it tells me I need .NET Framework 3.5
I have followed all instructions and still can't get it to work. Please help ASAP. I have lost at least a full mornings work trying to upgrade! Not a happy camper!

Can you please tell me which windows you are using?
Which instructions did you follow?
you get always the same error?
Try to use this repair tool:

try to install from microsoft site latest .net framework
restart
install again x5
after that should eork fine
