Why can't I import iwprj files?

I am using version 12 and the import window only allows me to import iwzip files. There is no other choice in the drop-down menu.
Why?

First you have to export the project as iwzip (at the previous location or in the previous version), afterwards you can import the iwzip file.

I don't want to import iwzip files. I want to import iwprj files.
