Delete files on server that are not on website anylonger  en

My site: www.mvmoaa.com  I thought when I update my files to the server the files I remove (delete) from my site wold be taken off the server where my site is loacated.  I found that files are not being removed.  Case in point, the January, 2014 newsletter was removed from the site in March of 2014.  I thought it was gone.  I found it along with many, many other files that I've removed from my site still in the folder called "Files" on the server.  They are all PDF documents.

My last website builder removed all files that were not on the lastest version when I uploaded it.  I must have deleted 30 or more files based on them not being on the site.

Pleas Advise.

I know I can do it by hand, and I don't like being talking down too. I already said I did so why come back with that as an answer?

It may not delete files from the server but it should.

James,

probably easier to delete complete site from hosting server and re-upload.

Hopefully you do not have the same problem as I do with deleted / extinct files still being uploaded to the server.

Which seems to be a problem that cannot be rectified.

Regards,
