Website X5 Update 2020.1.8 freezes after 5 minutes on project
Author: Paul G.Last week I updated 2019.3.17 to 2020.1.
It resulted in creating a separate website with e-commerce. I had started 5 days earlier on the e-commerce website because the login kept referring to the login page after a correct login.
Today I upgraded to 2020.1.8 hoping the problems would have resolved the issue.
Version 2020.1.8 started of just fine. Then sometimes was very slow taking several minutes to open an image object. Sometimes it started freezing up on my project after about minutes of use.
I reinstalled the full version 2020.1.8 but still resulting in long times opening an object and also freezing up after about 5 minutes. I have been working today for several hours on the same page without getting a single step further.
Anyone having the same problem? I would like to revert to 2020.1.7 but I can't download it anymore...
Could Incomedia please make it again available for download so one could revert back to the older version?
Hello Paul,
This link will allow you to roll back to 2020.1.7 in the meantime:
Download WebSite X5 2020.1.7 Pro
But please remember of course that there were bugs in 2020.1.7 which were resolved in 2020.1.8:

Kind regards,

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the link. Since I seperated the webshop from the full website, it shouldn't be any problem.
There is no e-commerce in the one I am trying to work on...
I'll give a try and let you know!
Kind regards,
Paul.

Hello Paul
I reverted back to 2020.1.7... I could not reopen my project (2020.1.8) because it was not backwards compatible to 2020.1.7!
Maybe this would be a great idea to have the projects be at least be compatible within the same version e.g. 2020.1?
After some try-outs Website X5 seems to freeze up while internally recreating the pages after adjusting or making modifications to a page object.
Kind regards,
Paul.
My apologies Paul, I assumed you had retained an IWZIP backup from version 2020.1.7
I'll mark this thread for the specific attention of the Incomedia support team.

No problem. I still have a backup of yesterday
The compatibility issue is something worth to consider.
I cleaned the project of backups and previews.
It seems to hang for several minutes after copying an object and then double clicking it or trying to get a preview of the page.
Hello Paul
Unfortunately, it would not be possible to move a project from a more updated version to an older one.
There might be new pieces of code or logic in the project that the older version cannot interpret well, and this would cause compatibility issues.
About the other issue instead, we're aware of some possible performance issues with images specifically. These should be fixed with the next update.
As soon as it is released, please try it out and let me know here if you notice any improvement
Thank you
