Include Ability to Add Links in Accordion Text Object  en

Author: Nigel B.

Incomedia, please add the ability to put links inside the Accordion Text Object.

I have the Accordion Text Object and would love to use this feature on my websites for Q&A sections but it has a very poor limitation in that I cannot put links inside it to other pages of interest that has further information.  So I cannot use it in its current state and instead I have to use the Text Object so I can add links.

I would also like to suggest adding more than 15 Boxes as currently it can only be able to include 15 questions.

Please add these simple necessities.

Thanks.

Nigel

Thanks Axel.

I appreciate your solution but I would prefer an easy in-built option provided by the X5 itself.  I have a large number of different pages with different QandA's that would make it too much work.

...and increase the number of accordion elements from 15 to 1500 ;)

The majority of people uses accordion in the FAQ section - and sometimes - this section has more than 15 Q&A.

I will join with a +1. It would very handy to have in this object.

In other objects there are standard links available for pictures of the accoordion object for instance, that works very nice, so why not here in text accordion object.

Two more wishes:

- Adding images without using html

- Formatting option of the text (color, thickness) without using html

Hi Incomedia,

Can we get this idea implemented in the Accordion Text Object?

Thanks

Hi Nigel,

I confirm that in the new Object Accordion Text/FAQ it is possible to set link to a button reported within the box. If you already own Accordion Text, the new Accordion Text/FAQ is free for you.

Thanks! Kind regards.

Hello,

Given the limitation to 15 boxes, and the demand for more, I had the idea of placing two objects on the same page. With margins at 0, the two objects merge on the page and give the impression of one. In this case there are 30 boxes available. (... and so on ++ if necessary ...).

But Incomedia must not forget user demand to have an object that allows the multiplication of boxes without going to the artisanal method to which I refer.

Hi Elisa,

That's great news!  I have the Accordion Text Object; when will it be updated?

Thanks

Nigel.

Hi Elisa, I don't see this new Accordion Text / FAQ object, I tried to update the list of objects but nothing, I only have the "old" Accordion Text, but there is no trace of the new update. Maybe it's an object valid only for the English version of the software?

Thank you Paul, yes, I know that link. From within Website X5 there is no possibility to update the old accordion text with the new one. I see the Accordion Text object (old version purchased by me) in the "Utility" category but it cannot be updated to the new version. I will try to uninstall and then reinstall the Object and see what happens.

Greetings from Italy

Unfortunately, even uninstalling and reinstalling the Accordion Text then always installs the old Object undecided

In case it helps...  and I am sure you know this already...  but there are two separate Utility categories:

If the Object is not already installed then it will not show up in your personalised list of Utility objects as highlighted in red above.

It needs to be first found in the second Utility category (as highlighted in green, by clicking on the Manage button)...  installed into WebSite X5 through the Objects Management screen, and then it will show up subsequently in your personalised list.

Once again, apologies if you are already aware of this, Giuseppe.

Ok, I solved it, I thought the old Accordion Object was automatically updated instead the new Accordion Text / FAQ Object appears in the list of Objects and now I see them both winklaughing Thanks

@ Incomedia

Nice touch with this new object - but what's the reason for ONLY 15 boxes?!

I have a website with 27 Q/A...

Yes, I know I can "insert" two or more Accordion Text / FAQ objects, but why not just add (at least) 20 more boxes in the OBJECT?

@ Axel

Yeah, maybe they could only count to 15?

But, the interesting thing is that the developer, who has worked on that object, doesn't see this limitation in five seconds working on the object!
