Hi,

I have 2 text boxes on one page and I need others to be able to edit them. I have followed the instruyctions for Dynamic Content Object. But when the website is uploaded the text boxes appear but cannot be edited and a further box appears below where text can be inputted by the user group. (This is where I put the object on the page set up, see attached photo). I just need the text boxes to allow to be edited clearly I have done something wrong, any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hello. "see attached photo" - where is the photo?

"I have followed the instruyctions for Dynamic Content Object." - you may not have posted a login form. Here is a page with this object and a login and password entry form.

This is how it looks in the program:

Here are the object settings:

And here are the user settings:

You can learn more about how you can set up Dynamic Content Object in my paid video tutorials. Video no. 21.

So, screenshot is how I set it up and screenshot 2 is how it is appearing, I just want the two text boxes to be able to be edited, what is this third box for?

Hello Steve,

Ordinary Text Objects are not editable (in the sense of publically writable) in WebSite X5.

Only the Dynamic Content Object is editable in that regard.  Any text which is to be edited by visitors to your website must be placed in a Dynamic Content Object as opposed to a Text Object.

The 'third box' which you refer to is in fact the Dynamic Content Object as it appears online, with the appropriate text formatting controls visible, which allow users to edit the content.

Kind regards,

Paul
