X5 pro-dynamic update changes wont save  en

I have a write folder in public/tmp and it has another tmp folder inside.both are 777.

I also had previously /tmp , and I get the same symptoms.

I can successfully login, connected to a database, and then the dynamic content is available to edit.

However, after editing, and then saving, the text reverts back to before the editing was done.

So  nothing is changed.

How can this be fixed?

I went to the admin page, and did a test of the site, and finally got a working writeable directory.

However, the dynanamic content is still not saving the edits, after logging in as a user with access permission.

OK, update.

The writeable directory did not fix the issue.

I deleted the dynamic object, and then redid it, and, uploaded the complete website project, and it began working, sort of....

Now the dynamic content that I put in during preview is not showing, but I can input and save the new text in the dynamic content area, after logging in.

What will happen now, when I upload the project, does my dynamic content get wiped out?

No, not really working.

I locked the page, then I can login and edit, but now nobody else can see the dynamic content.

Alright, unlocking the page, it is working now, everyone can see the dynamic content, but not edit unless logging in.

Hello Peter,

That's as designed...  you seem to have dynamic content working correctly...  for a greater understanding of how the Dynamic Content Object operates read the 'Best Practices' section of the help file, which is included with your software.  An extract is as follows:

-  If an enabled user has not logged in, the contents of the Dynamic Content Object are treated as normal text and it is not possible to click on the object to start the built-in online editor.

-  If an enabled user deletes the contents of a Dynamic Content Object without adding new text, the default contents of the object are re-proposed: the object is not left empty.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul

Thanx for input.

I would like the user to go to the page that has the dynamic content, but this does not happen, even though I have selected that they must get a logon page on that page(in user authen tication). The user does not get a logon page.

So I made a link to the inlogin.php which I saw on the uploaded site, and that way they can sign in, but then go to the welcome page, and must navigate back to the page with the dynamic content.

How can I fix this issue?

Paul, I read the help you suggested.

I understand about locked pages , and nobody having access until registered, and logging in.This is not what I am currently doing on my site.

I am expecting that the user comes to the site, and the page with the dynamic content.

And then when he clicks on the dynamic content, a login/register windows pops up/redirects.

Since i could not get that to happen, I put the link in, but I only discovered it by accident.
