Email Form Image file names with extra periods...  en

I created an email form with photo submission to a database.  Everything is working okay, but if I try to upload a photo with a period in the file name it errors with:

"photo" is in the wrong format.

example title:   Dec. 20 photo.jpg

Even though this is a .jpg file, I get the error unless I rename the file to remove the period after the word "Dec".

Can this be fixed?

Yes, also if you have a checkmark to collect csv, remove the check mark, see if that fix your problem.

Thank you for the reply, but I cannot find the checkmark you are referring to.  Please let me know where to find it.

Um, this is still unclear.  I have searched far and wide to no avail.  Perhaps you can be more specific as to the location of said checkmark.

thanks!

duh, I missed the attachment.  But, it does not apply to me because I am not using send data by email.  I am using "send data to a database" and the checkmark is not on that page.

Hello Gabriel,

In filenames it is bad to add a period on the filename since the period is generally used to define the end of the name and the begin of the extension format.

By adding the period in the name all after it is verified to be the extension to identify the file format and since it is not a word recognised it is not accepted.

Many thanks!

I will keep my fingers crossed that future version of X5 accept the files without issues.  My reasoining is that since most people use Windows and it accepts periods, people will use them.

Thanks.
