FeedReady data is being sorted alphabetically and not in date sequence. How do I re-display the feeds so they are in order of data and not by title alphabetically? Thanks

Hello Robert,

The feed entries in FeedReady are sorted based on the date and not alphabetically.

Can you please write me the feedurl to see it and understand why it is displayed to you in alphabetical order?

Many thanks!

Hello Robert,

I added the feeds to the app and they were sorted based on the date wit hthe latest entries on top.

Can you please tell me if you have the app on iOS or Android?

Many thanks!

Claudio - I have IOS (iphone 4s)

ON both sites the feeds are sorted alphabetically on my phone. Could it be my phone that is causing the problemn?

You should have a sort button anyway. Becasue when I have 70 plus feeds which I do on the one site, then alphabetically could be good. If you allow the user to switch back and forth that would be best. What do you think?

On my blog they sort by date, newest first. On my iPhone they sort alphabetically and then newest last. Have you looked into this on the iphone?

Pls advise. Thanks

Bob

OK, here is a screenshot of my iphone. The item on top is older than the item on the bottom (item on bottom was taken early this morning on 10/14). Item on top was posted 10/7. They are sorted alphabetically. This is true on another website I have as well.

There are no settings on Feedready to do anything. We are stuck with whatever it does.  Why not have a Search button, or a Sort sequence button (newest first oldest first or alpha)? Is this possible to have? I like the App but is is very limited ad in my case a problem with sort sequence. Initially the App did not do this. I had updated to IOS 7 at some point, could that have caused the problem?

Thanks

Bob

Claudio - please talk to me! Does Feedready work on IOS 7 properly or does it sort by Alpha instead of date sequence, yes or no?  I am attaching another screen shot of a 3rd post from my blog and it was INSERTED in Alpha sequence once again. The blog on the system is correct but the Feedready is not. You must test Feedready on an iPhone not just on an Android. Has Incomedia tested Feedready on an actual iPhone?

PLEASE advise

Thanks

Bob

Is anyone there at Incomedia? Can't someone answer my questions about FeedReady and IOS7? If you disagree with me then tell me why my iPhone would be displaying FeedReady posts in Alpha sort only. But say something!!!! I have sent screen shots and I hear nothing back for days. This is not acceptable and I soon will request a full refund for Professional.

Why would my IOS device show everything sorted in Alpha versus date sequence? I see that your shopping cart does the same thing  according to other users. Could it be that Alpha sort is your default sort method?

If you believe that your FeedReady sorts in Date Sequence then please tell me what I need to do to fix the problem. I do not want to roll this out to my users if it is Alpha sort only.

PLEASE ADVISE! I have spent 1 week on this wilth virtually no feedback from Incomedia.

OK, I thought you guys were ignoring me since you had issued an answer early on even though I am seeing other results from FeedReady.

Here is another issue with FeedReady. I deleted Feedready and re-installed it and linked to my feeds. They came up in Date order. For a few days that is. Now when I look at FeedReady they are back to Alpha. Very strange. Let me know what you find.

The other issue wioth Feedreadis is that when I go to the link on my webpage for my customers to click on (x5feedready.xml) I get sent to the My Podcasts app! It asks me do I want to Subscibe to Podcast (which includes my x5ready.xml link)! Why the heck would that happen? FeedReady should be "grabbing" that connection not MY PODCASTs. As a result I am unable to subscribe to that Feed. Please check it out www.bashthebadguys.com/x5feedready.xml

By the way, I have 2 x5 feedready links on this site, one in blog and one is in the root. Why would that be and which one should I be using?

Thanks

Bob

Hello Robert,

Our developers are already working on it about the display order of the feeds.

About the linking issue, probably when you uninstalled the app the OS changed the settings of the app which needs to handle the rss feeds and now it sends them to My Podcasts.

The x5feedready.xml file is only for the use with the FeedReady App which has settings which will be used when you load the feed in the app. The other feed in blog is the general feed which will be handled also by other feedreaders.

Many thanks!

Thanks, I will be glad to see the new sorting routine.

Also, is the file named x5feed.xml or x5feedready.xml? I sem toi hab them spelled both ways. Blog has x5feed.xml and the root has x5feedready.xml

Also should I have 2?

When I have different blogs on my website but separated in subdomains, can this work properly?

Also, you mentioned above that the OS chanegd my app settings. How should I correct that delete the app and re-install?

Thanks

Bob

Hello Robert,

If you activated the function for FeedReady then you need to have both files.

It can work properly with subdomains and the correct url for add in in the app is to write the url with the subdomain www.yourwebsite.com/site2/ and then on this url you will find the x5feedready.xml file which will work with the app.

After you install the app again this should change again the settings of the default RSS reader.

Try to install the app again and then check if the feeds are recognised by the correct app.

Please keep me updated.

Kelly I also ran into the "format not supported" some time ago and cannot remmber how to get past that. Maybe one of the moderators can assist you. I did learn that you may have a x5feedeady.xml file in two different locatioins on your site. One is related to rss feeds and the other could be related to blog feeds. This has been confusing as well.

Do a search on feedready and you will find different answers to these questions or hopefully someone can help you on feedready. None of my php functions are working properly right now so I cannot test mine for you.
